The Sequential LED Front Indicators are installed in both the left and right hand sides of the front bumper, which is accessed via the front wheel arches. The existing wiring is not altered in any way - the new wiring being plug and play with existing connectors.

Average time to install:
2 hours

Items supplied in this kit are:

Left Indicator Unit
Right Indicator Unit
LeftIndicator RightIndicator
Wiring Loom x2
Piggy-back wire taps x2
WiringLoom WireTap

There are 3 main parts to the Sequential LED Front Indicator installation. These can be broken down into:

      1. Installing the Indicator Units within the front bumper
      2. Connecting the Indicator Units to the existing car wiring
      3. *OPTIONAL* Connecting the Indicator Units to act as Daytime Running Lights

(For clarity, we will show installation on one side of the car ONLY. Installation needs to be repeated on both sides of the car)

Installing the Indicator Units within the front bumper:

Working on the LH (passenger for UK cars, driver for EU cars) side of the car:

      1. Safely jack up the front of the car to enable removal of the front wheel.
      2. Remove front wheel and store safely.
      3. Proceed to remove the numerous (over 20) plastic rivets holding the plastic wheel arch liner to the car's bodywork. Work methodically from front to back, storing all plastic rivets safely.
      4. With the majority of the plastic rivets removed (including the ones "overhead" at the top of the wheel arch), the larger, topmost, part of the wheelarch liner will become loose. DO NOT pull it away from the car if it is not completely free, rather look under the leading edge of the door sill to find any hidden plastic rivets. Once all plastic rivets have been removed, the wheelarch liner will be easy to remove from the wheelarch.
      5. Now proceed to remove the lower front part of the wheelarch liner. This part is held in with more plastic rivets and with a few M10 bolts. You will need to look under the front of the car as well as the leading edge of the wheelarch to see the precise locations of all M10 bolts. Upon removing all of these, the front lower wheelarch liner will fall away from the wheelarch itself.
      6. Unplug the existing wiring to the indicator unit - the plug is grey in colour.
      7. You can now proceed to remove bracketry sitting behind the existing indicator unit and blocking access to the retaining screws for the indicator unit. There are two sensors (black bulb like items attached to the bracket which can be unbolted and moved aside. Undo all the M10 bolts holding the brackets in place.
        Bracket 1
      8. Using a long-reach screwdriver, you can now remove the 3 Philips (cross head) screws which hold the indicator unit to the rear of the bumper. The top screw is sligtly awkward to get at, but isn't done up too tightly (locations marked in red - please note the bracket is still in place in this photo)
        Screws 1
      9. Withdraw the indicator unit, twisting it as necessary to get it passed all the other wiring and components in the bumper.
      10. You can now reverse the steps above to insert the new Sequential LED Front Indicator unit into the car. Be sure to screw it in securely (reverse of step 8), then re-attach the bracket behind it and the two sensors, being careful to not trap their wiring (reverse of step 7).
      11. The hardware installation on this side is now complete.

Connecting the Indicator Units to the existing car wiring:

Working on the LH (passenger for UK cars, driver for EU cars) side of the car:

      1. Plug the existing grey connector from the car wiring in to the orange connector of the included Wiring loom.
        Wiring 1
      2. Plug the white (triangular) connector from the wiring loom into the white plug coming from the Sequential LED Front Indicator unit.
        Wiring 2
      3. Secure the black earth wire (with round connector) to a convenient earth point on the car's chassis. You should see existing earth wires within easy reach of the indicator, on the inner chassis rails. Remove the bolt securing those earths, add the one for the Sequential LED Front Indicator, and re-attach the bolt. It is imperative that the black earth wire is attached to the metal chassis of the car. DO NOT attach it to any plastic item, such as the indicator body as this will not work correctly. (this will look slightly different on your car)
        Wiring 3
      4. Using the two M4 nuts / bolts provided, secure the gold coloured ballast to a suitable metal structure within the bumper. Make sure the ballast is not in direct contact with any wires as it gets hot in use.
        Balast 1

*OPTIONAL*
Connecting the Indicator Units to act as Daytime Running Lights:

The spare RED wire, which is taped loosly to the Wiring Loom is the power feed used to activate the Daytime Running Lights feature on the Sequential LED Front Indicators.
Working on the LH (passenger for UK cars, driver for EU cars) side of the car:

      1. Untape the red wire from the Wiring Loom.
      2. Using one of the supplied Piggy Back Wire Taps, join the red wire to a wire of your choice on the Pink wire on the main headlight wiring loom (large grey plug).
        Wiring 1

Finishing Up

    1. Reinstall the lower wheelarch liner, first using a couple of M8 bolts to roughly secure it whilst you insert the necessary plastic rivets. Do NOT insert rivets where the upper wheelarch liner sits over the lower one.
    2. Reinstall the upper wheelarch liner, making sure you replace all plastic rivets in all mounting locations.
    3. Replace wheel, torque to spec, and remove jack.
(For clarity, we have only shown installation on one side of the car. Remember to repeat all the above steps on the opposite side of your car)
